The hills of Montalbano, made famous by Leonardo da Vinci's drawings , extend for about 16,000 hectares between the provinces of Florence, Prato and Pistoia, including, in particular, the municipalities of Cerreto Guidi and Vinci.

Cerreto Guidi is a characteristic Tuscan village
which rises among the olive trees and vines of the Montalbano hills.
The history of this town is strongly linked to that of the noble Medici family.
In fact, Cosimo I de 'Medici, in 1556, chose Cerreto Guidi to build his country residence there, thanks to the strategic position of the village, easily reachable from Florence and not far from the Montalbano woods, where the noble Florentine family used to organize numerous hunting trips.
The imposing villa still stands today over the historic center of Cerreto Guidi
and, together with the nearby Pieve di San Leonardo,
constitutes the famous Medici Complex,
declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2013 ,
The village of Vinci,
located on the slopes of Montalbano
and surrounded by magnificent vineyards and olive groves,
